Day 11 - August 10: Riggins ID
Rest day.
Rest day in Riggins, Idaho. It doesn't really feel like we've earned another rest day yet, but I'll take it. We're in a lovely hotel right at the confluence of the Salmon and little Salmon Rivers, surrounded by soaring, folded mountains. Small town feel, with lots of boating activity on the river. I didn't do anything productive - went out for a walk this morning, visited all the little shops, soaked my feet in the river, came back to the hotel to watch Olympics, read, and clean my bike. I must say - we have such a wonderful group of accomplished women; such an inspiring group. And - I think I've worked my way through the rotation of all the women who are changing roommates every night. I've yet to hear a peep out of any of them during the night and everyone is very considerate. Except me, maybe. I must try not to freeze out a few of them who are used to sleeping in warmer temps; oops.
Ho hum......... a lovely rest day. While the scenery tomorrow should be spectacular, I don't have particularly fond memories of the road itself, particularly from New Meadows to Cambridge. Oh well - let's just hope for a safe ride. I think Cy and Katie are out scouting it today.
