Day 6 - August 5: Walla Walla WA
Rest day.
Well........ given the heat and exertion of the last few days, rest was at the top of my agenda for my "rest day". Walla Walla seems like a nice little city. After a quick bike cleaning, I walked downtown with a few other women, wandered Main Street, didn't spend any money, and came back to the hotel to watch some Olympics and do some reading. The locals seem very friendly. The downtown area seems to be doing well, unlike so many other some towns/cities in the U.S. I think I mentioned yesterday that there were 120 wineries in the area. Old news, apparently. The number is now 130. Lots of tasting rooms in town, but I wasn't tempted. Below are some pics taken in the downtown area.

Out for a delicious dinner at the local Indian restaurant, and early to bed. Such is the exciting life of a bunch of old ladies on bikes.............
I think Joe and I went through Walla Walla -- we were tempted by the wineries, however. Delicious Pinot Noir!!!
